-John Wooden
The first time I ever saw this quote was on the movie, "A Cinderella Story." The main character, Hilary Duff, had been discouraged of everything. Everything from going to university to going to their school's homecoming dance. She worked at the diner that used to be her father's but her stepmother had taken it. Because she was nothing but a waitress, everyone picked on her. Her stepmother told her that university is for people who want jobs, which is why she didn't need to go to her desired university; because she has a job at the diner. When everything crashes on her, she is so discouraged and depressed. At just the right moment, when she was so close to giving up, the pink wallpaper of the diner ripped and she saw that quote. The quote that her dad, before he died, always used to tell her to encourage her of going on with her life to excel at everything she desired to do.
